the three former late Presidents of Guyana, for the
many ways in which they changed my life.

establishment of the National Service Cadet Corps,
where my service taught me leadership skills and
shaped my future at a very early age.
His
Excellency Dr. Cheddi Jagan, for the example of his
persistence and dedication in achieving his goals
across a lifetime of service to Guyana. His
steadfast commitment to the cause he believed in was
unwavering.
His
Excellency the Honourable Hugh Desmond Hoyte, a
personal friend, for opening Guyana to the world,
initiating the economic recovery of the 1990s, and
for his true commitment to racial equality.
